When sharing is not good!

Our four-legged friends are experts at giving us pleading looks when we sit down to eat.
We must never be tempted to share, though! Many of the foods we eat are toxic to cats and dogs. Onions and lemons can lead to anaemia, and chocolate can cause hyperactivity, diarrhoea, and vomiting. In some cases, food poisoning can lead to convulsions, coma, and even death.

What should you do if your animal gets food poisoning

They should not have anything to eat or drink for 12 hour, followed by another 12-hour period with water only. After 24 hours, feed your pet very small amounts of food, If you see no improvement, see your veterinarian.

Overweight

Here's an easy way to find out if your cat it overweight. Just weigh it! If your cat is over 20% of its ideal weight, it's time for a diet. The adult most weight 3,5 and 5 kg. ( 8 to 10 pound).

Obesity in animals can hamper their quality of life and reduce their life expectancy. The best treatment is daily exercise and a controlled diet.

Low-calorie and high-fibre food is recommended to get your cat back to its ideal weight. Once that is accomplished you can start feeding your animal a maintenance food. Above all, no table scraps or treats, otherwise you'd have to start all over again!

Remember: Always see a veterinarian before putting your animal on a diet.
